Night is a typeface created to raise awareness & make Braille more accessible. The typeface is aimed at being a starting point for incorporating Braille into design pieces. Unlike some Braille typefaces i have made it so you can just type away, and then change the weight to Braille. No prior understanding of Braille is needed to get you going.
We say a start point as braille is tactile so you will need to actually get it embossed for it to be used. There are also some strict hight, space and leading guidelines for actual Braille. The typeface doesn’t include any contracted Braille forms as contractions vary word to word.
The typeface won’t replace the amazing skills of a Braille transcriber and its highly recommended they check over any Braille.
